  1. We all miss her so much. I think of her often because I have so many of her pins (15yrs old), her scarves, her kindness, generosity. Lots of things about Joan few people realized. RIP great one you were an original.

    1. How precious! How much I miss your willingness to “go there.” The brutal honesty, and appreciation for elegance, which is a “dichotomoy” I have always understood and embraced, was much appreciated by me: a huge fan.

  2. … Hope you’re doing ok Missy!?! Fondly remembering our times together when I covered your mom for “Billboard Magazine,” the “Las Vegas Review-Journal”-&-“Valley Times” in Southern Nevada.(’75-’79) Then our times in L.A.-&-Bflo., NY. Sending + thoughts/vibes your way. Take care …

  3. Great pic, what a cutie! Joan was always such a beautiful gal. I think of her often. Melissa, I hope you and your son are doing better. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your mom is with you too!

  4. How Perfect! What a BEAUTIFUL picture of a most Loving and Giving Spirit 🙂 LOVE to you Melissa and Cooper…I hope you are comforted by the full lifetime of memories your Mom left for you 🙂

  5. I pray for you and Cooper. I hope you get right into the Spotlight with that TV Show – Fashion Police – you are the one your Mom would want
there up front. You’ve got a great personality yourself Melissia. Ever
need a sitter – I brought up two sons and I miss them – now all grown up.
You go girl – you’ve got what it takes. Bless You and yours,

    Barbara Ann MacMahon-Firestone – CANADA.

  6. Melissa, Thank you for sharing your Mom with us, even as you go through some of the hardest times in your life. I lost both of my parents when I was in my twenties and I think we have probably had some of the same feelings. My biggest hurdle was to face the fact that I felt like an orphan. Even if you are an adult when your parents pass, it is not until their passing that you are now a grown up in your mind. Then you suddenly realize you are now that parent(s) to your child (children) and you must provide the same (or better) stability that you were afforded as the child. I think you and others who have lost their parents will understand what I’m trying to say. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You were the twinkle in your mom’s eyes.
