HOW TO WEAR A JOAN RIVERS BOYFRIEND SHIRT!!
The David & Bitsy Way!
DAVID: Welcome to my blog Bitsy!!
BITSY: Thanks!!! I’m so excited to be a part of Team Joan and bring my love of style to QVC!
DAVID: (If you don’t know Bitsy, we actually met on Instagram when she posted a fabulous picture wearing – what else? – a Joan Rivers Boyfriend Shirt!!)
BITSY: You know I practically live in my Boyfriend Shirts!! They are so versatile, I can wear one to walk my dogs and then throw on a great statement necklace and head to dinner with my husband!
DAVID: How’s that for versatile!
BITSY: On any given day I’m always running errands. I deliver Meals on Wheels and I want to look terrific but be comfortable getting in and out of the car. I love to pair my Boyfriend Shirt with a casual pant and a statement necklace:
DAVID: Fabulous!! Joan would love this classic look…simple and polished. And I love the way you’ve accessorized with the fuchsia heels, the statement necklace (and Phyllis, your adorable pug!) How would you style a Boyfriend Shirt for the career woman?
DAVID: I love that you took a classic black skirt and top (Joan’s trademarked “Blank Canvas”) and paired with our Denim Boyfriend Shirt. You look sharp and polished!
BITSY: For a more business casual look, I chose the Box Check Boyfriend Shirt tucked in a slim pencil skirt and a great pair of heels (that match the blue in the shirt!)
DAVID: And look at that necklace! I love to style our statement necklaces right on top of the shirt, a fresh and modern silhouette. I like that your personal style leans toward the fun side…I call your next look “cowgirl chic”…
BITSY: I love the idea of pairing high and low…denim and cowboy boots fit together perfectly, and adding a fun skirt kicks it up a notch!
DAVID: Adorable! The beauty of the Boyfriend Shirt is that it takes you everywhere, all depending on how you style it! Thanks Bitsy (and Phyllis, Jack, and Walter!) for sharing your fabulous outfits!!
BITSY: Thanks for having me on your blog, David!
DAVID: I’ll talk fashion with you anytime!

In a recent interview in Philadelphia Magazine, QVC’s CEO Mike George talked about the continued success of the network in the changing digital landscape. He also spoke about what Joan meant on both personal and professional levels as the Classics Collection continues.
“In the case of Joan, she had built a very impressive business with a strong team. That business has continued, the president of the company, Joan Rivers Worldwide, is the person that comes on air and sells the product. That business remains strong.”
The “Boyfriend Shirt” was a major staple in Joan’s wardrobe, and she loved her denim. As her friend and collaborator David Dangle wrote on his latest QVC blog, it was her go-to shirt for so many casual occasions: “Cooper’s soccer games, antiquing in Connecticut, a Saturday afternoon at the movies…”

Joan’s award-winning collection of jewelry and fashions inspired by her legacy of impeccable taste and style now has its own official Instagram! Follow along!
David Dangle, Joan’s friend and collaborator for twenty-five years, returns to QVC on Monday, October 13th at 10am ET, when David and QVC host Jill Bauer continue Joan’s vision of great style with fabulous fall jewelry and apparel. On his QVC blog, David talks about his upcoming visit:
“As I think about continuing Joan’s legacy on QVC, my heart fills with pride about the twenty-five years we shared. This Monday is an important day in my life because I will continue the journey without her. I hope I make her proud.”
A very familiar face to Joan’s friends and customers at QVC, David Dangle has been Joan’s friend, collaborator, style guru and CEO of her company for 24 years. Today, he published a note on his QVC blog about the future of the Joan Rivers Classics Collection, continuing Joan’s work and legacy. In the post, David also included a beautiful letter he received from Melissa.
As David perfectly put it, “Joan wouldn’t want it any other way…”
In a message on the QVC website, QVC President and CEO Mike George shared the following message along with the video below.
We are greatly saddened by the loss of our dear friend Joan Rivers. She has been a special part of our QVC family for 24 years, and we knew Joan not only as an extraordinary comedian, writer, producer and business leader, but as a generous and caring spirit, who inspired us to be better every day. Joan truly loved her customers, and delighted in bringing joy and inspiration to their lives over these last many years. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family, friends and fans.
Mike George, President and CEO, QVC
In case you missed last night’s episode of Fashion Police on E!, it was fabulous. Not only were we joined by the gorgeous Orly Shani and the one and only George Takei, but I accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, issued to me by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker, Anne Hathaway and Tara Reid. Tara confronted me on my way into E! to make sure I honored the challenges, which I did and then promptly summoned security. Watch the video at E! Online.
